The Province of Upper Austria

Since the district-level associations (BAVs) are public bodies, they often get in touch with the Office of the Provincial Government of Upper Austria. Regular information exchange and cooperation are focused, especially with the division for environmental law (as regulatory authority), with the subdivision for waste management (as planning and governing body, responsible for the administration of the provincial data base) and with the division for municipalities and savings banks (as regulatory authority for administration and finance issues). The provincial government entrusted Environmental Secretary Rudolf Anschober with the obligations concerning waste management. In cooperation with the special department for environmental protection, a work group was established, which regularly plans and realises projects in the field of public relations. Other forms of cooperation comprise seminars and press conferences. Besides, the "Umwelt Land" ("Enviromental") Province of Upper Austria supports the LAV by granting a basic subsidy.

ARA

The ARA, together with the AGR (Austria Glass Recycling), provides Austria with a worldwide unique nationwide network of waste collection containers in order to recycle waste materials. Licence partners of the ARA gain the right to use the trademark "Der Punkt" ("the point"), which symbolises that the producer has taken responsibility for the disposal of his packaging. This system enables collection and recycling of packaging for the benefit of our environment.

The ARA as important partner of the "Umweltprofis" in many respects

The ARA grants support for various projects of the "Umweltprofis", such as the production of reusable bags in course of the project "Lass dich nicht verKAUFen" (in English: "Don't (let) sell yourself"). Furthermore, many of the crucial waste consulting hours are financed by the ARA via personnel cost allowances.
