The "Umweltprofis" are the "BAVs" and the "LAV" of Upper Austria.

The "BAVs" are responsible for the municipal solid waste management in the province of Upper Austria. Each of the 15 administrative districts of Upper Austria and the three bigger cities "Linz", "Wels" and "Steyr" has its own "BAV".

The "LAV" represents the interesests of all BAVs on the level of provinces since 1993. Its office is in Linz. The "LAV" also conducts province-wide PR campaigns to motivate for waste separation and waste prevention.
