The "Umweltprofis" are a non-profit network whose members are public institutions that offer services in the field of sustainable solid waste management for the citizens and communities of Upper Austria and consist of the "BAVs" and the "LAV" of Upper Austria.

The "BAVs" are responsible for municipal solid waste management in the province of Upper Austria, i.e. for each of the 15 districts of Upper Austria and the three statutory cities Linz, Wels and Steyr have their own "BAV". The "LAV", with its office in Linz has representeds the interests of all BAVs on the level of provinces since 1993. The "LAV" also conducts province-wide PR campaigns to motivate for waste separation and waste prevention.
